Miss Leila & Miss Daesha | Birthday Shoots

I love shooting children and teenager and recently I got to do just that! Both of these beautiful subjects had their birthday shoots with me. Miss Leila had just turned 9 and Miss Daesha 14!!

First up Miss Leila... I have been shooting this cutie since she was 2 years old, before I bought my first SLR and Essynce Photography was just starting out. She's my little cousin and my sisters god-daughter. Her smile and laugh are infectious. It's just an indescribable feeling to see her growth captured through these images.

And now the lovely Miss Daesha... This was such a fun shoot! It's been a long time coming. I've always wanted to shoot her since I'm in love with her curls and beautiful complexion. I think I was more excited than she was lol. Daesha is also my little cousin and the last time I tried to snap a picture of her at a family function she was a little girl. She was a little shy at firsts as are all teenagers, but by outfit #2 her lovable and funny character shined through. And did I mention that she has a fabulous smile.

I've been slacking on updating my posts (I know). I had this one already typed out, but for some reason I didn't hit the publish button... (stranger things have happened ;p)

In the past two months I've had some sessions and projects that I haven't shared and here is one of them.

Clari III| The Unseen Shoot!

I have so many files on my hard drive that I forget what I have or have not blogged about. Well this past week, one of my friends had a birthday and I remembered that I never posted one of our last creative shoots together while in MA. Unlike session 1 and session 2 this session was done in the winter so not only was my creativity challenged but I had to trudge through freezing hands and falling snow. Here are the unseen files!

Miss Journee | 3 months old

My lil angel turned 3 months old last week!! So I deciding to give her a mini shoot. But the poor thing was getting over a cold and I also think she's teething, yes I said teething. She has all the symptoms; drooling, fussiness, irritability, gums look swollen and biting behavior. I was going to do it another day but then again I didn't want to let a sunny day like this go by (since it has been so cold). And I also didn't want to let time slip me by, the next thing I know she will be 6 months... So here are a few pics, sorry no smiles during this shoot (although she did crack a smile after I was done lol), she was a bit lethargic.

So I'm sitting here looking at my blog wondering what my next post should be... and I realize that I have TONS of images that I have personally taken for myself, friends or family members that I can share. Some of these images were taken during the pregnancy and others, well lets just say I have done a lot of test shooting throughout the years and things catch my eye. So while I am still settling in to motherhood I thought it be a good idea to post some of them from time to time, to share my love of photography along with keeping my blog current.

These two images are of my teenage cousin (thanks Jocelyn!). I used her as a subject this past summer during my last trimester of pregnancy. It was a challenge to try and get low with my belly. It was also very tiring. I felt exhausted after thirty minutes of just moving around and holding my camera.
